For those on a special diet, using the right kind of sugar is important.
Substitutes like the Artificial Sweeteners: Aspartame (Equal, Nutrasweet)
Saccharin (Sweet 'N Low, Sugar Twin), Sucralose (Splenda), Neotame or even
Acesulfame potassium (Sunett, Sweet One) can have physical, emotional and cognitive side effects that are just not worth the use.
There are other Natural Sweeteners: Stevia (Truvia), Monk fruit extract (Luo Han Guo),
Erythritol, Xylitol, Sorbitol, Honey, Maple syrup, Agave nectar (one of my personal favorites) that are great in baking but can upset your loved one delicate stomach.
The point is to cook/bake with the sugar/alternative that is best for your special diet loved one. There are many great options available.
I, personally like to cook/bake with organic cane sure like Florida Crystals https://floridacrystals.com/products They offer organic brown sugar and powdered sugar as well!!
For those that are unable to acquire products organic brown sugar, one of my family members took it to task to create a Homemade Brown sugar that could be used as a viable substitute.
